Chlorella - How Much to Take

Saturday, 16 July 2011

We are often asked "How much Chlorella should I take?"

A very simple question, but without a simple answer.

As Chlorella is a completely natural food, there is no set dosage – it would be a little like asking how much cabbage to eat. The way to look at Chlorella is as a high-protein food that also contains all the vitamins, minerals and amino acids listed on the web site (which is just about everything that the body needs). It can be taken in small amounts daily as a supplement, but it can also be taken as a replacement for your daily protein requirements instead of meat, cheese, eggs, fish, etc., whilst still providing the goodness you would receive from the accompanying salad, vegetables, potatoes, rice, etc. Chlorella is one of the few foods that can provide all that the body needs so it could, in fact, be eaten to the exclusion of everything else.

However, that would make meal times very boring, so most people take it in one of two ways:

1. Take half to one teaspoon (2 to 6 capsules) between 1 and 3 times daily and eat normally.

2. Take 1-2 (or more) tablespoons between 1 and 3 times daily and cut down the size of meals by around a third or a half.

Chlorella is almost 60% protein, compared to beef, which is only 22% protein, so you need to eat far less. The body needs time to become accustomed to such a concentrated source of protein so the amount of Chlorella taken should be increased gradually over time rather than starting with the full amount needed. However much you decide to take, you should adjust the amount for women and children based roughly on their body weight compared to yours.

Finally, this is the very briefest description of the benefits to be had from Chlorella, so we encourage you to search the internet and read as much as you can, taking the wildest claims with a pinch of salt (low sodium of course).

Thursday, 26 May 2011

We receive occasional emails asking how customers can be sure if our products are to be trusted.

I suppose the short answer is that they can be trusted no more than the products you buy from Boots, or the precription medicines you get from your local chemist.
